Hey guys/gals,

I'm deciding to go either twin or single turbo for my 2004 VYII SS Ute.

I had a drive of an R8 Twin turbo and was very impressed! It had an APS Kit fitted and running 7 PSI. Felt really good.

Now i haven't driven a single turbo'd v8 before. so basically just wanting opinions on whether or not its worth the extra money to go the twin turbo over the single. and what kit to go for (price and quality wise)

I want some pro's and cons of both, just general opinions and reasons for and against.

Any help would be great :),

Cheers,
Elliott

why limit yourself ? drive some other f/i setups id either go a aps or ASE is stay away from the other ones. try superchargers ? maybe ? or even build a engine up ?

don't want to go supercharged setup. just don't like how it sounds personally.

and love turbo. so thinking the single or twin setup. and i like the idea of the APS kit.

but just trying to figure out single or twin. wonder if anyone will let me test drive a single turbo ss? lol

and only drove the tt R8. but have driven a standard R8 before and the difference is amazing!. power is very clean comes on nice and boost comes on pretty early (around 2800). easy to drive in bumper to bumper as well.

would think the VE SS TT would be about the same

Would you have sex with a one titted woman? lol. Go the twin mate!!!! (altough 2x the lag) it will kick in twice as hard:burnout:. Good luck with the decision Palmer! whatever way you go it will always bring a smile to your face mate, please keep us updated how everything goes :)

Less lag mate, as you can use smaller turbos as you have two of them to achieve similar level of boost.....

get a single T88, nothing but lag untill 6000rpm and then BOOM !

so i have been thinking.

ill either go with sonny's (Marranos) single turbo kit

or go with Autotech's APS twin turbo kit.

Any advice guys?

Best advice is to drive both, as its a personal decision - decide what you like.

Decide your power goals first
I'm sure both will have enough to push a std engine to its limits, but you may want to have some in reserve if you decide to forge it and up the anti later.

is there much difference between the aps and an ase tt kit

i gotta semi-hijack this thread because i've been wondering the same thing

not interested in super - the vortech's boost response and linear delivery doesn't seem worth the trouble nor present results unless big bucks are spent. if any i'd go with a valley mount though in my price range, a bit limited in top end unless its a big buck whipple so i'm dead set on turbo in the next year or two. probably...

on ASE's section they (obviously) give it a good rap. there's a guy who says he preferred it to his gentt kit - any objective opinions on the difference between the two? for me, cost effectiveness is a big thing & as nice as the APS's looks the base ASE for $7k and the Gentt for about $10k are what it'd come down to for me at least. i'd be tring to get the whole thing closer to 10-12k

don't know anyone with em up here (though there is some) so haven't been in either. there's a lot of you guys out there, please share your wisdom!

so is a aps tt kit a better kit than a ase tt kit
